Supremely diverse in their writing abilities, Houses takes the listener as high as the Rocky Mountains from whence they hail. From reverb-drenched folk tunes to heavy rockers that will leave you ready to wrestle a buffalo, the band's influences remain hidden deep enough that you might feel like you've had a flashback in time.
Led by Andy Hamilton, Houses is a 7-piece Denver band reminiscent of the best albums in your parent's record collection. With overtones of 70's rock-and-roll, and all the hair that goes with it, Houses puts a new spin on the past as they work their way through the future. Early in 2009 Hamilton set out to record and release four seasonally-themed EPs for the year; each a representation of his own emotional reaction to the time. With three CDs under their belt, Houses plans to release their fourth self-produced EP before the end of winter 2010.
Their prolific nature shows no sign of endangerment as the band already has a full album in the works for later this year. When Houses isn't busy in their smoke-filled, dimly-lit home studio they can be found repeatedly packing out Denver clubs; playing to sold out venues full of hipsters and hippies alike, grinning from ear to ear. Tour dates are soon to be announced along with appearances at this year's SXSW music festival in Austin, Texas.
